GRAVITY LIGHTS ARE READY TO GIVE LIGHT FOR 1.2 BILLIONS PEOPLE LIVING WITHOUT ELECTRICITY
The Gravity light concept is initially started by two people Jim Reeves and Martin Riddiford in 2009. The main aim of Jim and Martin is to create a alternative source for kerosene lamps and provide light for rural areas. Initially both of them started to work on low cost SolarAid and later they realised solar panels and batteries are costlier then they expect. And soon they decided to look beyond solar and battery powered devices. This leads to invention of gravity lights.
With the help of crowdfunding they started to work on prototypes and field test those prototypes on different countries. These gravity lights don't need any fuel source, just by providing a load of weight to the unit it can generate power for LED for few hours.
How a Gravity Light works
After lots of field test and upgradation they come up with a improved model of gravity light called GravityLight GL02
GravityLight GL02
The improved model GL02 is much brighter than normal kerosene lamp easy to use and more robust. This model is successfully launched in 50 communities in Kenya and makes a huge impact. moving forward Jim and Martin aim to launch this gravity internationally to reach 1.2 billion people living without light.

ReplyDeleteHi Josh, Great you are thrilled with the 357. I've got one myself because like 10 decades. I enjoy it as well, not modded as yours however.
Right now it doesn't function, it chokes when warm. Brought to a neigbour of mine and he will have a deeper look at it.
It seems like a few have had problem using the automatic decompression valve, so does yours have this?
